Value for money
Using it n Himalayan. Liked the smoothness it brings to the engine which lasts for good 1500-2000kms and I change the oil at 4500kms.Got lucky to be stocking up 3 bottles at ₹402 per litre. Sorted for a year now.Only downside is during highway riding it evaporates quickly like on my 4000km ride my engine oil level dropped by almost 400ml.

Not that great as mentioned in reviews
I used this oil in my FZ V2 but it just made the engine sound worse. I thought after 50 kms it will make my bike’s engine smoother and less audible but it just did the opposite. Had to change it in just a month. Will try 20T now from motul.

Cured slipping clutch, “snick” is back
As advertised, Motul 5100 Ester Blend 15W-50 (semi-synthetic) appears to be optimized for a shared-sump motor. I immediately noticed a quieter valve train with my Pulsar air/oil-cooled motor. I have recently experienced clutch chatter during high operating temperature in slow speed maneuvering and clutch slip at takeoff prior to reaching full operating temperature. That has seemingly disappeared. Gear changes are now accompanied by a “snick” rather than what had developed into a soft “clunk”. As the miles have piled on, the transmission, although exceptionally smooth compared to many other modern machines, became slightly reluctant to shift smoothly. That has also now seemingly vanished.This particular machine calls for Semi-synth or full synth, shared-sump oil in either 10w-40 or 15w-50 weights. The “winter” weight of the oil is a non-issue, so I have taken liberty in the past with this. The previous fill was with Bajaj Dts-i 10000, an oil that I have used for years with little complaint. If anything, my previous fills with Bajaj Dts-i 10000 have felt like they are shearing down before 3-4000 kms, well before the recommended 6000 kms interval. In this machine, a previous Apache, and other machines, I have filled with Motul, Bajaj, Castrol, plus some others I fail to recall. All of them are fine oils for the application. At some point, the Castrol products seemed to shear down around 2-2500 kms. The Bajaj products never gave me an issue other than 1) locating some and b) paying the asking price.Motul 5100 is priced more competitively than all but the Castrol Actevo. However, Motul 5100’s ester synthetic base and additive package is available at a price point that the competition doesn’t offer. For the quantity, this oil is quite a bargain.Although not readily available at an auto parts store like Mobil, Castrol or Valvoline motorcycle oils, telegraphing an oil change and having oil shipped is a minor inconvenience in the context of the benefits of Motul. Frankly, I’ve avoided Motul for this reason, as well as the fact that they market so hard for independent shops to carry the product line. Motul products seemed cheap for this reason, despite being able to buy at cost. However, customer comments on how much better the motor “feels”, even with Motul’s standard mineral product, should have clued me on. I guess I was ignoring how much harder the huge companies market their motorcycle products to chain stores. So much for standing on principle…Whether Motul 5100 shears down quickly in this bike remains a to be seen. I’ll add to this review when I know more.Hope this helps you make a good decision.

Shifts smoothEngine does not make that loud noise after being driven for over 40 kmsExhaust is now more loudEngine heats less.Mileage has been improved by 3-4kms. Before it used to give 41-42 (when sometimes ridden fast) and now it gives 45-46km/ltr.Vibrations have been reduced slightlyJust one con – it’s price fluctuates too much yesterday it was 570 per litre and today i.e 2 June 2024 it is 402 per litre.And when I bought it two months before 1 April 2024 it was 484 per litre.Apart price it is the best semi synthetic oil for J series engines.

I’m using this in my gixxer sf bs6 model. Till 3000km it’ll not give you any problem. But after that whenever you’ll cross 5000 RPM, you can feel that engine is struggling. If you don’t run your bike on high RPM like more 5000 RPM then go for it, else go for 7100 Or castrol power1 ultimate. For daily uses its a very good cost effective product.Drain interval should not be more than 3500km.

4000km ride – Pulsar 150dtsi – Motul 5100 4T
I have used this oil for Bajaj Pulsar 150 dtsi for 4000km now. Initially I used all the standard “Bajaj DTSi 10000 20-50” which was Rs.400. Since bajaj oil was mineral oil and Motul 5100 will be a semi-synthetic, one of them suggested to flush the engine using “Abro Motor Flush for Bike (50 ml)” before using Motul. I did so. I’m not sure if flushing had it’s effect but, Motul took almost 800km before becoming smooth on the engine. Have patience & trust in the oil. After which till 3600km it was awesome. The smoothness, pickup it provides is great. Didn’t had much impact on mileage though. At times the smoothness is so good that you really would feel your ignition went off at the traffic signals. Gear shifts are smooth too.Smooth bike = happy rides.Pros:Far better than the traditional bajaj oil.Smooth on the engine, gearsEngine doesn’t stall even on low idle rpms (mine is set to 900 idle rpm – I’m a commuter)Cons:To be found.Recommendation: Change oil after 4000km. Don’t pull the oil more & stress your engineYou really don’t need Motul 7100 or 300V if you’re a commuter & city rider.Pricey than the traditional bajaj oil but its worth it [Bajaj 10000 dtsi- 2500km vs. Motul 5100- 4000km drain interval]

Gets better after each km… Using in my FZ16
Using it for last one year in my FZ16-2012 model. I changed the oil filter also, consider that when you read my review.I changed the oil and oil filter. Thought it might increase my pickup a lot and reduce the engine noise. But on the first ride after changing the oil, I didn’t feel any reduction in vibration or a change in pickup. But the gear shifts were so so sooo smooth that sometimes, I didn’t even notice the gear changing… It was that smooth. A gentle touch was enough. Note that my gears were very tight before using this oil, and I had changed my oil to Mobil1 to know if that would help but the result was negative. So the only change was in gear shifting and not in pickup or vibrations for first 50 kms.After 50 kms, the engine vibrations started reducing and the pickup started increasing. Now I’ve driven more than 110kms,and on each ride it becomes smoother and smoother. The vibrations are too low now and the pickup has increased a lot.I haven’t checked the mileage but at a glance there’s no reduction as reviewed by someone here. Will update after checking.Update: I recently had a 360 km long trip, mostly on highways. I got a mile age of 50.8 km/L on my Fz16. I had driven 2300kms after changing the oil and oil filter. I was getting a mile age of 47km/L on highways when I used a non-motul engine oil.So I think this engine oil increases the mile age also.I’ve done around 8000 kms using this engine oil and I’m pretty much satisfied with this. The bike becomes smoother by each ride, especially after 500kms. And this oil lasts for 4500-5000kms if you change the oil filter also.

Value for money!
Before Motul 5100 15w50 I’ve tried numerous oils, That includes castrol,elf moto,shell,bajaj OEM oil etc. But these oils always felt harsh after ~1600km or so, but they never last after 2000km.Except for Castrol all these oils were semi-synthetic or fully synthetic.Also my driving was mainly in city traffic and some highway driving.The oil filter is also changed every time oil is changed.So , these oils were not in subjected to extreme or harsh conditions.Last oil I’ve used only lasted about 1000Kms and it’s a very reputed brand.So I searched around and gathered info about oils and engines.After extensive research I decided to go with motul 5100 15w50 for my bajaj discover 100T.Best decision I’ve made for my bike!!!Until now, bike has run 2000kms and it’s still going strong.We all know legendary engine refinement of bajaj engines. Nowadays bajaj improved considerably in engine refinement but it cannot match it’s Japanese rivals but this oil brings DTSI engines very close to it.Pros-1.Smooth engine and gearshifts.2.Increased mileage(5% increase)3. Improved performance and speed.4.Reduced Heat and engine noise.Cons-1.Somewhat hard to find.2.Little costly.Motul 5100,7100 contains single ester.Also motul 300V contains double ester.These ester molecules always stick to the engine walls for improved protection for engine start-up.Esters are used in aircraft engine oils because of its properties to withstand high temperatures.Motul is very reputed brand and manufactures it’s own base stocks , This results in higher quality oils than competitors.I don’t wanna go into details but if you’re interested just go search around the net about engine oil rules in USA and Europe about base stocks and synthetic oil definitions.Please consider voting this review helpful only if you find it helpful 🙂

Perfect for RE Classic
I’ve been using the Royal Enfield Classic 350 for around 5 years. First year was with the company workshops with Liquid Gun. Then moved on to some random local mechanics with their own suggestions of engine oil Castrol, Liqui Molly, Shell and so on. Whatever these guys could get at a discount and sell to me at MRP.Did some research and thought this Motul would be good for the RE. Didn’t need a fully synthetic oil foe this long bore engine. Didn’t want to go for mineral oil I’m either as I wanted more performance. This oil is the perfect blend of the two and made the bike way way smoother. Vibrations reduced by a great deal. I service my bike after 3-4000 kms based on how much time I’ve spent in the traffic. You get to know when the bike needs an oil change.I think I’m sticking with this engine oil as long as I stick with my Classic 350.

Motul is best for performance
Any Motul oil slightly enhances the performance of ur bike engine compared to bajaj engine oil (I use a bajaj pulsar 150)……mileage is slightly compromised(like 2-3kmpl) when using this oil…..but highway performance & long rides are really smooth…..I did around 250-300kms in a day without taking a break…no issues.Go for it 👍Packaging could’ve been better…..product could’ve been easily damaged

मैने ये प्रोडेक्ट ऐमेजोन से खरीदा है, अच्छी डिलीवरी मिली, थैंक्यू ऐमेजोन, मै कुछ दीन पहेले मेरी बाइक का इन्जीन बनवाया था, बाद फोरमैन ने इस मे केसट्रोल कंपनी का डुप्लिकेट ओईल डाल दीया था, इस वजह से मेरी बाइक चालु मे फाकी झटके ले रही थी, इन्जीन फाकी दबा हुआ रहता था, क्लच ठीक से काम नहीं कर रही थी, गियर भी ठीक से काम नहीं कर रहा था, और माईलेज कट गया था, मै काफी हैरान था, बाद में मुझे लगा कि इन्जीन ओईल चेन्ज करू तो मैने ऐमेजोन पर काफी ओईल देखकर मुजे ये ओईल का रिव्यू गुड लगा तो मैंने ऐमेजोन से खरीदा, मेरी बाइक कि सारी ही सारी प्रोब्लेम सोल हो गई, सारी प्रोब्लेम, मै काफी खुश हू, अब मै मोटुल (motul) कंपनी का ही ओईल उपयोग करूंगा, Very good product, very good, thank you motul, thank you amezon,

I noticed improvement in Mileage.After Motul oil heating issue solve Continuous Riding From Dadar/Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar.Mileage improve from 40-42 to 46-48 kmpl.Speed Increase from 95+ to 100+.Let’s see Drain interval, will post another review.
