I have to break it every time because it becomes like a rock inside the box. It doesn’t stay in powder form to use conveniently. It does good washing though but not convenient to use.

Best Indian dishwasher detergent
I’ve tried just about every brand of dishwasher detergent in the market and I can openly vouch for Fortune.I was severely disappointed with reputed brands like IFB & Vim. Those, in my opinion, were launched in a hurry and never really tested in India.For the price you pay for Fortune, you get every granules worth. Washes perfectly and leaves no stain.It’s the same for their Dishwasher salt & rinse aid liquid.It’s Made in India and made for India

Best option for dishwasher salt
Dishwasher salt is primarily used to ensure water softness and balance hardness. It does not make a very large difference in homes where water supply is soft. This effectively means anyone getting water supply from a city or town municipal authority should be fine using literally any brand of dishwasher salt. Having said that, and if you fall under this category, just blindly go for Fortune dishwasher active salt as it has quick delivery and is fairly priced. Comes packaged very well and is easy to use. Lasts long enough and does the job.

I am using Fortune salt with my Siemens dishwasher for about a year now and I am fully satisfied with it.Be prepared for lengthy review! 😃Dishwasher is relatively new concept for Indians and as per Indian style of cooking, certain trail and errors are necessary before choosing detergents/tablets, rinse aid and salt.Certain facts which are true even if you use of dishwasher unlike manual cleaning as under:1 Light scrubbing is necessary for medium/highly soiled utensils.2 Dishwasher results may not be good for too much dry kept utensils. So it’s advisable to keep dishes wet in sink before loading in dishwasher unless you are using just after meals just scrap off food.3 After installation of dishwasher, for first time use…add a glass of water in salt compartment before adding salt. The installation guy will not tell you this. Then you can fill salt till it is fully filled.4 Although certain brands recommend certain detergents, it is not necessary to stick to those brands. You can do trials of different detergent/tablets…after all it is disposed with water!5 All Bosch/Siemens dishwasher default settings have H4 for salt and r5 for rinse aid. You can change them as per quality of hardness of water in your area.6 Generally white stains in dishes are found due to overdose of rinse aid. So never fill rinse aid compartment fully…as it may sometimes lead to soapy residue and white stains on dishes.7 Never use detergent in excess. A small teaspoon is enough for highly soiled utensils for full load.8 Clean of dishwasher filter once a week. Also dishwasher itself needs cleaning once a month. The best is to keep a cup of white vinegar on top rack of dishwasher and run a full empty hot cycle. Your dishwasher will be fully clean.9 Most important – If you are using tablets still you need to use salt and rinse aid for proper resultsThe best settings I found to my Siemens dishwasher after many trials and errors are as under:SALT H7: Highest salt setting as I have extremely hard water in my area. Default settings may work if you have soft water in your area. I use Fortune salt.RINSE AID r5: Default rinse aid works for me. I use Fortune rinse aid.DETERGENT/ TABLETS: I use “Finish” detergent (better than Fortune) OR Fortune tablets ….along with fortune salt and fortune rinse aid.WASH CYCLE: Auto or economy everyday as per my need. Intensive cycle once a month for cleaning of dishwasher as I mentioned earlier. Never use tablets in quick cycle as does not dissolve properly and give poor results.Now coming to product Fortune salt i review as under:PROS:1 Quality of Fortune salt is similar to international brand Finish salt.2 Fortune salt can be used for any brand dishwasher: Bosch, Siemens, LG.3 Add 1 kg whenever salt light blinks…it lasts for about 20-25 days if dishwasher used once daily.CONS:1 Not a con actually but I feel reading earlier reviews….it might not work for IFB brand dishwasher. As IFB salt is pink and the texture of salt is like big rock stones. Maybe IFB dishwashers function differently than mostly European brand dishwashers available in India.Verdict:I have posted my review after using in my siemens dishwasher for a year now with highly soiled Indian vessels. Finish salt is much better for hard water than this
Used it in my Bosch dishwasher. I have been using Finish salt before this. Although Fortune salt is cheaper (66% price of Finish, I found that it doesn’t break down hard water as efficiently and the cleaning isn’t as good). Also, inefficient breaking down of hard water may affect your machine in the long term.Go for this only if you have a strong reason to be highly price-conscious in the short term. If you can afford it, Finish is better.
